Das Europaforum Burgenland wurde am 4. Mai 2001 von Landeshauptmannstellvertreter Mag. Franz Steindl mit dem Ziel gegründet, über Partei- und Landesgrenzen hinweg ein Marktplatz der Ideen, Forum für Begegnungen sowie ein pannonischer Think-Tank zu sein.
Pannonien umfasst den Raum zwischen Wien, Pressburg/Bratislava, Budapest und Agram/Zagreb. Wir leben in einem Lebensraum voller Chancen, die uns die Europäische Union bietet. Diese Chancen können die Regionen Pannoniens nur gemeinsam nutzen. Eine erfolgreiche Zusammenarbeit kann nicht verordnet werden, sondern sie muss von den Menschen getragen werden. Daher sieht es das Europaforum als seine Hauptaufgabe, auf unsere Nachbarn zuzugehen und Begegnungen zu ermöglichen.
Building bridges in Pannonia
The Europaforum Burgenland was established by Vicegovernor Mag. Franz Steindl on the 4th of May 2001 with the aim, to be a marketplace for ideas, a forum for encounters as well as a Pannonian Think Tank.
Pannonia contains the area between Vienna, Bratislava, Budapest and Zagreb. We live in a lebensraum full of chances, that the European Union offers us. Those chances the regions of Pannonia can only take together. Successful cooperation can not be commanded, but has to be borne by the people. Therefore the Europaforum sees it as its main task, to walk up to our neighbours and make encounters possible.
